The Knee

Patient Information

The Knee Joint is one of the strongest and most important joints in the human body. Movements at the knee are essential for everyday activities like walking, running, sitting and standing. The knee joint is commonly injured during athletic activities and these can include fractures of the bone, ligaments or meniscal injuries within the knee leading to pain and instability. As well as instability, degeneration of the articular cartilage can lead to osteoarthritis. This may cause pain and stiffness which can affect your daily activities.
